Mission
The creation of this North American wide dating site is
intended to be a central location where single First
Nation members may find a relationship with other First
Nation members.
Due to current First Nation laws in Canada many members
are prevented from passing on their status rights to
their children if the marriage is to a non-member. A
recent study conducted in Alderville First Nation
revealed that 80% of Alderville First Nations members
marry to non-members. This pattern is likely being
repeated in many other bands which are now small in
number. To add to that problem is the fact that all the
different First Nation bands are far apart and out of
touch with each other. According to the same study
conducted on the population of Alderville the results
indicate that by 2032 the remaining Status Indian
children will be born in Alderville, but there
won't be enough to continue the flow of new
members.
As a result of the downward trend in membership,
something needs to be put in place which will
facilitate more status members choosing relationships
with other status members. Although there is absolutely
nothing wrong with marrying a non-member if that is
what you choose to do; keep in mind that if you are 1/2
status under the law your children will not benefit
from having status in such a union.
In conclusion the potential return and the benefit to
First Nations members that such a web site will
generate calls for immediate action. Their are hundreds
of thousands of possible mates to be found across all
of North America. First Nations membership recognizes
no borders; nor does First Nations Dating Singles Club.
You may find someone close or far. Have you dreamed of
living somewhere else particular in Canada or the
United States? Perhaps you'll find your soul mate
